Dear Friends,
We've been back in Oz for a bit over three weeks now and things have been so hectic
that it feels like the six months in the US was just a dream!
Last week Joe Melham went to be with the Lord. He is the one who had a stroke two
months ago. His wife and daughter, Amira and Mariette, know that he is in a better
place and they are comforted. Pray for strength and wisdom for them as they walk
through the Lebanese traditions that his family is insisting on. She wants to be a
good testimony to them as they are all unbelievers. The funeral is Tuesday morning.
Wednesday we will be driving about four hours north to attend another funeral, that
of the father of a man we have been witnessing to. We got acquainted with John
Clifton through his wife, who is the daughter of one of the ladies of our church,
Adriana. (Some of you met her a few years ago when she visited us in Kansas.)
Saturday is a wedding - a young Lebanese couple. John Jabra has been attending Grace
for a few years now. He went to Lebanon last year and came back engaged. Pray for
him and Joanna as they begin their life together in Australia. Joanna has a lot of
new things happening in her life now.
Please pray about our ladies' outreach, the Chocolate Boutique on October 10th. We're
asking God to bring unsaved ladies along that they may hear the gospel. This week
Lenna and I are doing the bulk of the organizing and enlisting small group leaders,
helpers, etc. We need quiet a few ladies to be involved if it is going to be a
success; but more importantly we need prayer support!
Don and I are doing well even though we feel that our lives have been sort of like
riding a runaway horse lately. We are in the process of transition to Cornerstone
Baptist Church in Craigieburn beginning next month.
Strength and wisdom needed!
Thanks, Lola for the both of us.
